It has been far too long since my latest post and I am certainly sorry about that! I just couldn’t think about what I wanted to write about next… When I originally decided to start a blog I had compiled a list of topics I knew I wanted to touch upon. What I have come to realize is, I don’t need a big, exciting “topic”each and every time I post. That’s when I realized this blog is an outlet for me to write freely about whatever I am feeling at the time. Although it may seem weird or even irrelevant to some… I truly believe God wanted me to start this blog, even if it would reach just one person… to give them hope, reassurance, acceptance, encouragement, or simply, whatever that one person needed to hear to… just help!
If you know me, you know my favorite day of the week is Sunday. I love Sunday’s because it’s the one day my husband, Paul doesn’t work. He is truly the most motivated and hard working individual I know! I admire him more than he’ll ever know, he is an amazing father and husband!
There is just something so special watching the man of your dreams with your kiddos… the way he caters to them and tells them how he loves them, brings warmth to my heart and happy tears to my eyes!
On Sunday’s Paul gets to spend the entire day with me and the kiddos and we all cherish it! Sunday is the day of rest it’s the Lord’s day; Paul and I have, and always will, put God first in our lives. We put God first in our lives because we know without God and the death of His son, Jesus Christ, we wouldn’t be here. We wouldn’t be able to have quiet Sunday mornings spent together as a family to rejoice in the simplicity of enjoying slow mornings together. The truth is, we deserved the death Jesus endured on our behalf, we are the sinners, but still Jesus paid the price for us all and because of Him we have eternal life in Heaven! How amazing is that?! We don’t deserve it and there is nothing we can do to get ourselves to Heaven other than to acknowledge the fact that Jesus was sent to earth to die on the cross for OUR sins! Acknowledging that truth will set you free of your sins…it doesn’t stop life from getting hard at times, but it does give you hope in challenging situations.
Having two kids in two years has come with its set of challenges. One of those challenges is, it can be impossible to make it to church on Sunday mornings… I have heard and read that blaming your kids for missing church isn’t an excuse… I’m sorry, but I would have to disagree. Now, now… let me be clear, I’m NOT saying just because we have young children we’ll never make it to church until they are grown, but some days napping is simply a necessity. When nap time overlaps church time Paul and I look up a sermon and watch/listen to it while the kids get their much needed rest. Today was one of those days! The message I took away from todays online sermon was, Life isn’t against you!
Life isn’t against you! How encouraging is that!? When I heard it, it was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders! Life happens, your living room may be cluttered and filled with toys, your young kids nap time sometimes overlaps with church service, your post-pregnancy body may never look like your pre-pregnancy body… but you know what? Life isn’t against you! When you put God first, your life will all fall into line after Him; especially because He is ultimately guiding it! When you trust and put all your worries onto God’s shoulders you realize there is no weight left on yours! Mathew 6:33-34 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
When I start to prioritize things above God, that is when my load gets heavier, my worries increase… the house will never be clean and tidy enough, my body won’t be skinny enough, my time in the day won’t be long enough… But today I was reminded, Life isn’t against me. God wants me to prioritize Him so He can lighten my load. So today I made sure to acknowledge that truth! Paul and I decided to relax and enjoy our slow Sunday morning! So breakfast bakes, strong coffee, messy house, pj’s all day and tons of baby snuggles and kisses were our focus and our reality! Knowing and thanking God for it ALL as simple as that is!
We’re all human and we all can play the “victim card” like life is against us and nothing ever goes our way. When we start to get down on ourselves the very best medicine is JESUS and His word! Crack your Bible open and let the words speak to your heart. Prioritize God and know that Life isn’t against you because God is for you! Romans 8:31 “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
At the end of the day, even if all you did was survive, know that is enough! Laundry can wait, dishes can wait, messy rooms can be messy! We will never get sweet moments back so when we soak them in and thank God for them, that is enough!
Have Faith Mama(s)…Life isn’t against you, because GOD is for you! When we acknowledge that, Life can be Easy like Sunday Mornings!
